Volume 1 only. Bound in publisher's brown portfolio with white spine label, green lettering on label. Consists of Parts I-V, each in oversized paper wraps. With an introduction by General Sir Douglas Haig. . Parts II, III, IV and V are water-stained at the edges, with Parts IV and V sustaining the most damage, though only a very few prints( all in Part V) have damage to the artwork. Part I is fine. Light rubbing to the head and heel of the portfolio with former owner's name, place, date and price at the top edge of the front cover, light rubbing to the edges of the oversized wrappers of the parts. GOOD+. . B&W drawings. Folio 13" - 23" tall

Proclamations are written in French and English and are shown in bold green, orange, and black. Introduction by Ian Malcolm. Sir Ian Zachary Malcolm, 17th Laird of Poltalloch, KCMG, (1868-1944) was a Conservative Member of Parliament and Chieftain of the Clan Malcolm/MacCallum. Malcolm held many diplomatic and political appointments. He travelled extensively in British India in 1901-1902, visiting the North-West Frontier Province and Rajputana, and accompanying Lord Curzon of Kedleston, Viceroy of India on his tour through Burma in late 1901. He was a British Red Cross Officer during the First World War in France, Switzerland, Russia and the U.S.. In April-May 1917 he was a member of the Balfour Mission, intended to promote cooperation between the US and UK during World War I. He was private secretary to Balfour at the Peace Conference in 1919, when he was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George (KCMG).. Slight Tears and wear along front cover, small Puncture hole, else fine. VERY GOOD+.. Folio 13" - 23" tall. 37 pp
