Publisher's full brown cloth, gilt lettering on spine, gilt medallion on cover, t.e.g. Illustrated with color map and B&W photographs. Originally published in 1939 by Farrar & Rinehart. Edward Charles "Teddy Blue" Abbott was born December 17, 1860, in Cranwich Hall, Norfolk County, England. In 1871, he came to the United States with his father, J.B. Abbott. They went to Texas, eventually purchased a cattle herd, and drove it north to Nebraska. Teddy Blue settled with his family at the end of the Texas cattle trail near Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1883, he entered Montana with a herd of longhorns, and two years later, signed on with the DHS Ranch at Fort Maginnis. He became engaged to Mary Stuart, daughter of one of his employers, Granville Stuart. The couple married on September 29, 1889, and settled on the 3 Deuce Ranch at Giltedge. They had ten children. 9 Adams, Ansel The American Wilderness
Boston Little, Brown & Company 1990 First Printing Hard Cover New in New dust jacket Illustrated by Ansel Adams
Publisher's full gray cloth. Illustrated with magnificent full-page photographs by Ansel Adams. In this magnificent volume, Ansel Adams champions the incomparable American landscape and insists that we keep these treasured lands undefiled. A testament of love for the wilderness from our nation's most famous photographer, in 108 duotone illustrations. This is the noted photographer's last book project, begun two years before his death in 1984 at the suggestion of his friend, Wilderness Society president William Turnage. The straightforward design takes pertinent quotations from Adams's writings on wilderness conservation and interleaves them with informal subject groupings of photographs: Yosemite, ocean beaches, Yellowstone, Hawaii, trees, plants, and flowers. Turnage's warm introduction helps readers grasp in concrete terms the early shaping of Adams's commitment to nature conservation, his prodigious output and accomplishments, his visual legacy, and the success of his mission, spanning six decades, to preserve America's wild places. The quality of the large reproductions, from prints prepared by Adams's associate John Sexton, could not be finer. Recommended for photography, geography, and environmental science collections. . Both the volume and the unclipped dust jacket are in perfect, pristine condition; unread, unmarked, tight, square, and clean. Still in original shrink-wrap. 13 Adolphus, John The History of England, from the Accession of King George the Third, to the Conclusion of Peace in the Year 1783 (Three Volumes, Complete)
London T. Cadell and Jun. and W. Davies 1802 First Printing Leather Very Good with no dust jacket

Three volumes in contemporary half calf over marcled boards, spines in five compartments separated by raised bands, gilt lettering in two compartments on burgundy labels, intricate gilt tooling in the remainder, blind-stamped borders on covers, marbled endpapers, marbled edges. It includes summaries of parliamentary debates, and Adolphus was praised for it in issue No. 2 of the Edinburgh Review. The papers of George Dodington, 1st Baron Melcombe had been placed at Adolphus's disposal in the preparation of his history, and they enabled him to throw light on the conduct of Lord Bute, and on the political transactions of the earlier years of the reign of George III, who, in conversation, commented on the accuracy with which some of the first measures taken after his accession had been described. Volume Two (only) has been professionally rebacked with the original spine laid on. An extremely elegant set. VERY GOOD. . 8vo 8" - 9" tall
