Louis Constant Wairy (or Constant)(1778-1845) was the first valet de chambre of the Emperor Napoleon. Constant Wairy was born in Belgium. He entered into the service of Josephine Bonaparte on April 21, 1799. He was appreciated for his gaiety, his affability, his discretion, and his intelligence. More than just a valet, he was a faithful collaborator and was very much appreciated by the emperor. Constant accompanied the emperor in his campaigns from 1805 to 1813.
