This book is the story of a six-week trip the author took during the summer of 1944 in company with Eric Johnston, President of the US Chamber of Commerce. They traveled Russia from the Caspian Sea to the Finnish front, from the depth of Siberia to an air base in the Ukraine. His view of this big and mysterious land is exceptional from the standpoint of 1944. W. L. White is also the author of What People Said; Journey for Margaret (1941) ; They Were Expendable (1942) ; Queens Die Proudly (1943) ; Report on the Germans (1947) ; Lost Boundaries (1948) ; Bernard Baruch (1950) ; Back Down the Ridge (1953). . 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
